Paul Robinson has claimed Fabinho "looks off" for Liverpool and is leaving his defenders exposed.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said Jurgen Klopp "is clearly not happy" with his midfielders.

The Reds lost further ground in the title race with a 3-3 draw against Brighton on Saturday (1 October).

As reported by the Liverpool Echo's Ian Doyle (2 October), Klopp was visibly angry with Fabinho in the second half of the game at Anfield.

Klopp is said to have made his point forcibly towards the centre-midfielder, who chose to ignore his manager at first.

Fabinho, 28, eventually exchanged words with his boss.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the the Brazilian's displays for Liverpool this season, Robinson said: "Fabinho was one of Liverpool's best players last year.

"He is one player you always want fit and in the team.

"Nobody at Liverpool is playing well. Klopp is clearly not happy with the way they are playing.

"Fabinho was one that looked off at the weekend. It is harsh to single just him out though because they have problems all over the place.

"The back four is being exposed though because they are not getting the protection from Fabinho and the other midfielders. There is not the protection that there has been in previous seasons."

Fabinho has made 10 appearances across all competitions this season.

He has four years remaining on his contract on Merseyside.
