Liverpool could sign Mykhaylo Mudryk for £50m on one condition - pundit

Alan Hutton has insisted Mykhaylo Mudryk needs a guarantee of game time to join Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender is not surprised that Premier League teams are interested in the 21-year-old.

According to journalist Mark Douglas, reported in iNews (27 September), Newcastle United have entered the race to sign the Ukraine international.

They join Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and Brentford in the race to sign Mudryk.

Shakhtar Donetsk are said to value the winger at £50million.

The attacker currently has four years remaining on his Shakhtar contract but is said to see a move to the Premier League as a “natural” next step.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Hutton said: “The only thing with Liverpool is you see the players that they’ve already got.

The likes of [Luis] Diaz, is he [Mudryk] going to go there and play? I think he’s an outstanding young player. He’s only 21, he’s lightening quick, he makes things happen. He just picks up the ball and glides past players and before you know it he’s in the box having a shot.

He started this season really well, I had the opportunity to watch him a couple of times so it doesn’t surprise me that all these teams are looking at him.

His next move, for him to develop, he’ll want to play games. He won’t want to got to Liverpool to just sit on the bench. That being said, it makes you better when you’ve got competition like that. It’s really down to the fee and where he fancies but he’s an outstanding talent.
