Liverpool are sweating over the fitness of Daniel Sturridge amid fears he could miss the rest of the season with a hip injury, according to a report.
The Daily Mail report that Liverpool have doubts as to whether the 27-year-old will feature again for the club this season, after the attacker was dealt yet another devastating injury setback.
Sturridge has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, and has been restricted to just 16 Premier League appearances this season, of which only five have been starts.
But the England international has suffered a recurrence of a hip injury that has seen him sidelined for much of the new year, and Liverpool fear he could miss the rest of the season.
He had been tipped to make a comeback ahead of the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday, but was ruled out on the morning of the game by Anfield medical staff.

Liverpool have already been stripped down to the bare bones in recent weeks, having lost key first team trio Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson to injury, and Sturridge’s injury will do little to ease the concerns at Anfield.
The Reds are fighting hard to cement their place in the Premier League’s top four this season, but the task has been made tougher by the absence of a number of their star performers.
But the continued absence of Sturridge will be particularly frustrating for Jurgen Klopp, with the striker having played just 384 minutes of football for Liverpool this season.
His ongoing injury concerns could see him sold this summer as Liverpool turn their attention to more reliable attacking options, with Sturridge incapable of staying fit for an entire season.
