This news is a blow to Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool fans who harboured hopes of signing the classy Italian forward. It means it will now take a sensational transfer fee to prise Insigne away from the Stadio San Paolo. The 25-year-old has been in fine form this term and has bagged 14 goals in Serie A from the wing. He would have been a perfect addition to Liverpool’s squad given his ability to play in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, but Klopp will now have to look elsewhere to bolster his attacking options ahead of next season.
In other Liverpool transfer news, Klopp has welcomed interest in 24-year-old star as top European clubs circle.
