Liverpool are set to follow up the new contract handed to Roberto Firmino by tying Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to new deals this summer, according to a report.
Bleacher Report claim fresh agreements for the other two members of the Merseyside giants’ brilliant forward line are firmly in the pipeline.
It is said that Liverpool have upped Firmino’s salary to £9million-a-year – £45million over the entirety of the contract – and are ready to hand Salah and Mane to equally lucrative deals in the coming weeks.
The Brazil international, 26, has scored 27 goals this season and supplied a further 16 assists in all competitions in what has been comfortably the most productive of his three seasons at Anfield.
Football Insider verdict:
Handing Firmino a deal worth a jawdropping £45million in wages over five years is a sign of Liverpool’s commitment to keeping the nucleus of Jurgen Klopp’s squad intact. Losing Philippe Coutinho in January was a massive blow – how his eye-of-the-needle passing has been badly missed against organised defences in recent Premier League matches – and they will also lament the imminent exit of Emre Can. Firmino has scored 27 goals and assisted 16 more this season and is irreplaceable, and player of the year winner Salah is the same, while Mane is also a huge player in Klopp’s side with his devastating pace and capacity for the unexpected. Two further mega deals for the other two members of Europe’s most eyecatching front line will prove American owners FSG’s commitment to building on the foundation of this memorable campaign, which could yet end in the ultimate glory in Kiev in three weeks’ time. These are heady times at Anfield.
In other Liverpool news, the club are to table a mega goal machine offer, he will certainly be at Anfield in 18/19.
