He has now racked up 136 appearances for Napoli, but is yet to test himself in England.
Liverpool are believed to be chasing a new left-back in the summer as Jurgen Klopp used makeshift full-back James Milner in that position last season.
Football Insider verdict:
Liverpool certainly need to strengthen their left-back options in the summer to provide competition for Milner and Alberto Moreno, with an automatic starter the ideal route to go. Klopp’s side will be balancing both domestic and European competition next season and will need two solid choices at their disposal. Ghoulam looks to be an accomplished target and has the pace to be competitive in the Premier League. The full-back would give an extra attacking dimension and his 10 assists last season for Napoli is a highly impressive tally. Liverpool usually dominate possession and like to press their full-backs up the pitch, something that should lend well to Ghoulam.
In other Liverpool transfer news, Klopp’s involvement is crucial to securing a mega-money deal for a defender.
