Liverpool fans post their Twitter predictions ahead of Man United showdown

By Emma Sanders

Liverpool and Manchester United go head-to-head on Monday evening at Anfield – and fans are preparing for the mouthwatering game on Twitter.

Jurgen Klopp’s side could go top of the table, level on points with Manchester City and Arsenal should they beat United.

It’s a hotly contested fixture between Jose Mourinho and Klopp’s men and is considered by most in Merseyside as the biggest game of the season.

The fixture has brought up some memorable moments in the past, most notably Steven Gerrard’s sending off seconds after coming on as a second half substitute in March 2015.

Manchester United were 2-1 winners in that clash and Mourinho’s side have won their last four league games against Liverpool.

However, Klopp’s side go into Monday evening’s clash as favourites after making an emphatic start to the season.

The Merseysiders have netted 18 goals so far, and have lost just once this season (2-0 against Burnley) as they currently sit in fourth place.

A defeat for the Reds will not only be the first time they have lost three consecutive home league games against United but could potentially allow their rivals to leap frog them in the table.

The fixture has seen 16 red cards in total so it is likely going to be another thrilling encounter and Liverpool fans are extremely excited on Twitter.
