Liverpool fans have started to compare their in-form attacking trio on Twitter with Barcelona superstars, Luis Saurez, Neymar and Lionel Messi.
The three Catalan forwards are widely considered all-time greats and one of the most threatening attacking trios in the recent history of the game.
The Reds’ recorded another emphatic victory as they thrashed Watford 6-1 on Sunday afternoon to send them to the top of the Premier League table.
Sadio Mane scored two as his teammates, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino also got their names on the score-sheet meaning all of Liverpool’s forwards grabbed a goal on the weekend.
Jurgen Klopp’s side has had 10 different goalscorers in the Premier League so far after Giorginio Wijnaldum came on as a late substitute to score his first goal for the club.
However, the attacking trio of Mane, Firmino and Coutinho have scored 18 goals in all competitions this season and all three players currently sit in the Premier League’s top 10 goalscorers list.
Mane scored his fifth and sixth league goal against Watford while Coutinho and Firmino added their fifth as Liverpool’s stars dealt a devastating blow on Watford.
The Merseysiders just can’t stop scoring and they have already notched up 30 league goals this season and Sunday’s victory against Watford was the fifth time Liverpool have scored four or more goals against their opponents.
The fluidity of their attacking stars has led to fans making comparisons with Barcelona’s world-class strikers and given their emphatic start to the season, it’s easy to see why.
Suarez, Neymar and Messi have scored a combined total of 20 goals this season just two more than Liverpool’s attacking trio.
