Liverpool fans discuss on Twitter who will replace Lallana and Wijnaldum in the line-up v Man United

By Emma Sanders

Liverpool take on Manchester United in one of the season’s biggest games on Monday night and fans have been discussing who they think should start on Twitter.

Giorginio Wijnaldum isn’t expected to feature after picking up an injury whilst on international duty.

Adam Lallana could also miss the game after he was forced to come off during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory against Swansea two weeks ago.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed both players could be a doubt for the clash but stated Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne are ‘in the race’ to start, Liverpool Echo writer James Pearce reported on Friday.

Emre Can is the player most likely to replace Wijnaldum should the midfielder miss out but there are other options available to Klopp.

Both Lucas Leiva and Marko Grujic could also replace the Dutchman, who plays in a deep-lying midfield role alongside Jordan Henderson.

If Lallana misses the clash, Philippe Coutinho may be moved into a more central midfield role.

Daniel Sturridge could also make a start, with Roberto Firmino forced to move wide to fill the void left by Coutinho’s switch.

However, with it being such an important fixture, there has been plenty of speculation over the starting line-up and Liverpool fans have discussed their thoughts on Twitter.
