Jurgen Klopp faces a selection dilemma ahead of Liverpool’s next fixture and fans have been discussing on Twitter who they think should start in midfield between Emre Can and Giorginio Wijnaldum.
Liverpool take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurt Park on Saturday evening but with both players seemingly fully fit, Klopp may have to choose between the two to start the game.
Can faced a long battle to regain full fitness after picking up an injury following a late return from an extended summer break.
The young Germany international missed Liverpool’s pre-season campaign as he was given more time to recover from his European Championship exploits.
He made his first appearance in the season opener against Arsenal but did not start in the Premier League until October 17th when he lined up to face Manchester United in Wijnaldum’s absence.
The Dutchman picked up a hip injury while on international duty two weeks ago and missed the side’s clash against Manchester United, while only making a substitute appearance against West Brom last Saturday.
Wijnaldum returned to the starting XI for Liverpool’s 2-0 victory against Tottenham on Tuesday evening and it seems most fans are hoping he’ll get the nod ahead of Can once again.
Here is a selection of the messages on Twitter:
Saturday's XI picks itself:
Karius, Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino.
Gini > Can.

Got to be Wijnaldum than me. More dynamic than Can https://t.co/cffohOq8jp

Can or Wijnaldum what are people saying? Wijnaldum for me, keeps the game moving better and the goals are due to come soon #LFC

Can has only had one good game in the cup. Wijnaldum has been consistent since he got here. No brainer. https://t.co/JPEYF8IJk4

as much as I like Can, Wijnaldum gotta start. Recycles the ball quickly and effectively.

Wijnaldum, easy choice between the 2, both can't play as Henderson, presumably, has to play
