'Now show us the real line-up' - Liverpool fans fume at crazy Klopp line-up v Everton

Liverpool fans were fuming on social media at Jurgen Klopp’s decision to drop Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino for the Merseyside derby on Sunday.

Coutinho and Firmino have been in blistering form this season, and are usually key players for the Reds, however Klopp named them both on the bench.

Several fans laughed at the line-up asking for the real one to be posted, with one fan labelling Klopp a joker.

It does seem like a crazy selection – Dominic Solanke is up front in only his second start in the Premier league this season, and the Everton derby game is always a high-pressure environment.

Both dropped players were on top form in the Champions League game on Wednesday – Coutinho scored a hat-trick and Firmino also got on the score sheet.

The Reds go into their match with their local rivals six places and 11 points better off .

However, the Toffees have recently transformed their form as they have won their last two league games in a row.

Everton hammered West Ham 4-0 in David Unsworth’s last game in charge, before Sam Allardyce took over and won his first game 2-0 against Huddersfield Town.

Both sides enjoyed mid-week success in Europe before their game on Sunday, the Toffees defeated Apollon Limassol 3-0 and Liverpool put seven past Spartak Moscow.

The 7-0 victory enabled the Reds to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages, whereas Everton had already crashed out of the Europa League ahead of their victory.

If the Reds avoid defeat to Everton on Sunday, then it will equal their longest unbeaten one against their rivals of 15 games.
