Liverpool fans have agreement in principle with 21-y/o at 3rd-placed club after extensive talks - report

Liverpool have agreed in principle to give Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos a four-year contract ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report.
Italian transfer site Calcio Mercato claim that the Merseyside giants have intensified contract talks with the 21-year-old’s agents in recent weeks and have been able to agree the terms of a deal.
It is said that Ceballos previously thought he was on his way to AC Milan in the summer, but Jurgen Klopp’s intervention could now see him head to Anfield instead.
Calcio Mercato report that Juventus are also interested in the central midfielder, but they are put off by the fact that Real Madrid are demanding £34.8 million for his services.
Former Real Betis player Ceballos has made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Champions League holders this season but has found himself behind the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the central midfield pecking order.

Football Insider verdict:
With summer arrival Naby Keita more of a number eight than a number six, Klopp needs a polished performer in the anchorman role, someone who can do what Fernandinho has done so brilliantly for Manchester City this season. Ceballos is a fine talent and could be the ideal answer to Liverpool’s search for a bona fide monster in the centre of the pitch. He has been on the fringes of the Real Madrid side this season since his £15million transfer from Real Betis last summer, and is frustrated at being on the fringes under Zinedine Zidane. But Ceballos has star quality and could thrive under a coach like Klopp, who has an excellent track record of improving players.
