Gary Neville was doing his best to wind up Liverpool fans on Twitter after their 3-0 demolition job on Man City in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

First he responded to Joey Barton, who said, "Can't imagine what Liverpool would be like if they ever won the league again?" with the words, "Unbearable!! Unthinkable!!"

Then, when one fan asked him whether he thought they'd challenge for the Premier League next season he said, "Don't think so no whilst they are in the CL."

He went on to say it was tough to replicate Klopp's physical style of play over three games a week, and that their squad wasn't strong enough.

Naturally, this got the attention of Liverpool fans who piled onto Twitter to give Neville a piece of their mind.

The former Man United defender might be a popular pundit on Sky Sports, but the Liverpool fans weren't impressed with what he was saying on Twitter.
