Liverpool supporters were left drooling over the performance of Andrew Robertson as the Reds beat West Ham 4-1 on Saturday in the Premier League.
After a break from league action due to FA Cup fixtures, there were no signs of Jurgen Klopp’s side not being ready for this one-sided affair and dominated throughout the ninety minutes.
Goals from Emre Can, Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane temporarily saw the Reds go second in the table, only to be replaced by Manchester United 24 hours later.
But it was the display of left-back Andrew Robertson that had tongues wagging amongst the Liverpool faithful on social media post-match.
The former Hull City defender only arrived at the club last summer in an £8million switch from the then relegated Premier League side and has gone from strength to strength under Klopp.
Saturday was his 23rd appearance for Liverpool and it would seem that the supporters believe the 23-year-old is now a mainstay in the defence, pushing usual first choice Alberto Moreno out behind him.
One fan compared the full-back to former Reds defender Steve Nicol and there were others who on current form reckon that Robertson is the ‘Best left back in the league.’
Here is a selection of Twitter responses to the display of the Scot:
