'Too good' - Liverpool fans react on Twitter as new kit is released

By Matt Bullin

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to the Reds new kit which has been released today.

The kit for the 2017/18 season features a new badge as it commemorates the club’s 125th anniversary.

The retro strip, produced by New Balance, is somewhat of a throwback to the kits worn by Liverpool’s European Cup-winning sides of the 1980s.

It is set to be worn for the first time in Liverpool’s final Premier League match of the season, when they take on Middesbrough at Anfield.

The kit also sees a return to a deeper ‘blood red’ colour favoured by the club in the Bill Shankly era.

Liverpool announced their new kit via their official Twitter account earlier today.

They will hope to wear the kit in the Champions League next term, but after a disappointing defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday their place is in doubt.

Liverpool currently sit third in the Premier League with just four games to go, although they are only two points ahead of Man City in fourth, who have two games in hand.

Meanwhile Man United and Arsenal circle, sitting three and six points behind the Anfield side respectively, with two games in hand.

Liverpool fans have expressed their delight at the design of the new kit on Twitter.
