Liverpool fans react on Twitter after reported breakthrough in striker talks

Youngster Ben Woodburn has reportedly agreed his first professional contract – and the Liverpool fans were delighted on Twitter with the proposed deal.

The Liverpool Echo claim that the 17-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at Anfield.

Woodburn turned 17 on Saturday and is set to be rewarded for his impressive performances in the club’s youth teams.

The expected three-year deal is the longest contract a scholar is allowed to sign under FA regulations and is a clear signal of Liverpool’s faith in Woodburn’s potential.

Liverpool supporters expressed their delight on Twitter about prospect Woodburn and feel he has a huge future at the club.

Woodburn has started the season in phenomenal form with Liverpool’s Under-23s and has already netted six goals for Michael Beale’s side.

The striker will hope to continue his form and impress senior manager Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool are currently blessed with several talented attacker, with Roberto Firmino currently keeping Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi out of the starting XI.

Danny Ings has also fallen down the pecking order and joined Woodburn in the Under-23s to pick up minutes.
