Liverpool fans were delighted on Twitter as Adam Lallana finally broke his England duck, in the 95th minute against Slovenia.

The dramatic late winner gave manager Sam Allardyce a hugely important win in his first game as England manager, after former Liverpool hardman Martin Skrtel saw red earlier in the second half.

Lallana bundled the ball home after great work by left-back Danny Rose. It was just about deserved on the balance of play but England fans won't take too much from a laboured performance that was eerily reminiscent of the performances at Euro 2016.

The former Saints captain gets criticised for his lack of goals and will be glad to finally get off the mark for England, after getting unlucky earlier in the match after a superb strike from 20 yards out hit the woodwork.

Here's what the Liverpool fans were saying about their player on Twitter.

The fleet-footed attacker has starred in 94 encounters for the Reds in all competitions, scoring 14 goals from his attacking-midfield position after moving for £25million from Southampton in 2014.
