Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Can display v Sunderland
By Dominic Toner
Emre Can played 90 minutes on Monday for Liverpool – and the club’s supporters were furious with his performance on Twitter.
The Merseyside club slipped to a 2-2 draw at Sunderland in the Premier League and will certainly feel it was two points dropped.
Jurgen Klopp’s side led twice through Daniel Sturridge and Sadio Mane respectively, but were pegged back both times by Jermain Defoe from the penalty spot.
Ragnar Klavan was penalised for a clumsy foul for the first spot kick in the first-half and Mane’s handball allowed Defoe to grab Sunderland a valuable point.
Liverpool fans picked out the performance of Can and were highly critical of his efforts.

Oh Henderson offers us nothing in the holding role. Can is much better there. Good one lads.

Liverpool made just one alteration to their starting XI as Sturridge replaced captain Jordan Henderson, who suffered a heel injury in the 1-0 victory over Manchester City.
Henderson’s absence meant that Can screened the back four, something that he found difficult against a fired up Sunderland.
The Black Cats are fighting a religion battle and respond to a humiliating 4-1 defeat at Burnley, with Liverpool’s players guilty of being caught in possession and supporters were clearly infuriated with Can.
The Reds face cup ties against Plymouth and Southampton respectively before their next Premier League clash and some fans believe that Can should miss out for that away trip to Manchester United.
