Liverpool fans pile into 23-year-old on Twitter after meltdown against Bournemouth

By Alex Stevens

Lorius Karius conceded four goals in Liverpool’s second-half meltdown against Bournemouth on Sunday – and fans piled into the 23-year-old on Twitter.

Supporters claimed the summer signing was at fault for a number of the home side’s goals in their sensational 4-3 win against Liverpool at the Vitality Stadium.

Goals from Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and Emre Can had put Liverpool 3-1 up midway through the second period but Bournemouth mounted a famous comeback as Ryan Fraser, Simon Cook and Nathan Ake followed up Calum Wilson’s earlier penalty to seal a remarkable triumph.

Karius, who has taken over as the Anfield No1 from Simon Mignolet this season, was clearly at fault for the winner by Ake as he spilled a relatively tame long-range shot into the path of the centre-back.

Liverpool fans were highly critical of the former Mainz goalkeeper as they took to social media to express their displeasure.
