Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Origi starting v Burnley

By Harvey Byrne

Attacker Divock Origi has been brought back into the Liverpool line-up to face Burnley on Sunday afternoon – and Reds fans on Twitter are excited.

The 21-year-old was named as the centre-forward in Jurgen Klopp’s team for the Anfield clash due to Roberto Firmino dropping out of the squad after being an injury doubt ahead of the encounter.

Origi’s last league start came all the way back in mid-January in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United and he has since made a further five appearances off the bench without returning a goal.

However, Liverpool fans on social media are now keen to see what the Belgian can bring to their side once more.

One supporter urged Origi to take his chance, while another shared that he looked impressive against Arsenal last weekend.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Origi has played in 32 matches for Liverpool in all competitions this season, bringing a return of eight goals and three assists.

The striker enjoyed a good run in front of goal between November and December which saw him bag four goals from four matches and he will be looking to recapture that form against Burnley.
