Liverpool fans reacted with delight on Twitter as Daniel Sturridge is set to start ahead of Harry Kane during England’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland.
Theย Daily Mailย claim Sturridge, who has started England’s last two games in Kane’s absence,ย is expected to feature in his seventh successive international.
The Merseyside forward has been out of form this season and is yet to score in the Premier League, only picking up four goals in the EFL Cup competition.
He has been kept out of the Liverpool side by Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane who have all been in sensational form this season.
Sturridge has been an ever-present in the England side since the 2013-14 Premier League season though and his international record is impressive.

The 27 year-old has scored seven goals in 24 appearances for his country, including two in their last seven fixtures, with his most recent coming against Malta in their 2-0 victory.
Liverpool fans want to see Sturridge return to top form and given he has struggled to get minutes for his club so far this season, they were pleased to hear he should feature for England.
Here is a selection of messages on Twitter:
Sturridge needs minutes, so idm him starting tomorrow. He has to start a head of Vardy.. Vardy's been awful.. Kane just came back!
