Liverpool have dropped Darwin Nunez hint after unexpected development pre-Fulham - pundit
Kevin Campbell has suggested Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will start Roberto Firmino against Fulham.
However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Arsenal and Everton striker is adamant Darwin Nunez will be the focal point of Liverpool’s attack for the majority of the 2022-23 campaign.
On Saturday (30 July), Liverpool beat Man City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium to win the FA Community Shield.
Firmino started for the Reds in attack alongside Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.
Nunez was named on the bench for the fixture between the winners of the Premier League and FA Cup.
The summer signing scored in stoppage time to seal victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

When asked by Football Insider if the team selection was a hint ahead of Saturday’s trip to Fulham, Campbell said: “You’d think so.
“I expected Nunez to be in the starting XI after scoring four goals the other week. At the end of the day, Nunez has to be the main striker for Liverpool this season.
“The charity shield is usually the test before the start of the season though. You put your first XI out and then you mix in some of the other players in the second half. I expected both teams to go strong.
“Although people tend to say it isn’t a trophy, it is, let me tell you that. If you win it, it goes on your honours list. It is a trophy.
“It is always a nice curtain raiser. The added bonus is beating your rivals at the start.”
