Sources: Liverpool fear their senior man is quitting to join Man United
Liverpool fear their director of research Ian Graham is quitting to potentially join Man United, sources have told Football Insider.
It emerged earlier this month that the data recruitment expert resigned in June and is working a 12-month notice period that ends next May.
It is believed that Graham could be headed next to Liverpool's bitter rivals United in what would be a controversial move.
His former close ally Michael Edwards has been targeted by the Manchester giants as they look to overhaul their own recruitment set-up.
Football Insider broke the news on on 1 October that United are confident of beating Chelsea to the appointment of Edwards.
The latest is the United are still well placed to secure an agreement with the former Liverpool transfer guru, with talks progressing after they submitted what is believed to be a "hugely attractive offer" to him.
The deal is believed to be unrelated to a takeover of the Premier League giants after the Glazer family put the club up for sale last month.
Graham worked under Edwards at Liverpool to grow the club's data department, with a primary focus on recruitment and player analysis.
Edwards left the club at the end of last season while his successor Julian Ward has announced he will depart at the end of the season.
Graham has been at Liverpool since April 2012, and has been credited with playing a key role in the club being renowned as transfer market standard bearers during the Jurgen Klopp era.
