Liverpool are 'definitely looking' at Leeds ace Phillips to replace Henderson - pundit
Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Liverpool may look to replace Jordan Henderson with Kalvin Phillips of Leeds United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted the Whites will have to fight hard to keep hold of their prize asset after his “outstanding” performances for England at the Euros.
The Athletic reported on 19 July Henderson’s future is uncertain as no progress has been made in negotiations over a contract extension.
The 31-year-old has two years left on his current Anfield contract and it is claimed both Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are monitoring the situation.
Phillips was picked ahead of the Liverpool captain in Gareth Southgate’s starting XI at the Euros as Henderson missed the final months of the season with an injury.
The Leeds star rewarded Southgate’s faith with a string of exceptional displays as England reached the final.

“It’s not just Liverpool, I think he’ll be on everybody’s radar,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He’s an outstanding player and was one of England’s stand-out performers at the Euros. Every team in the Premier League and teams in Europe will be looking at him and will definitely try to sign him.
“It’s going to be a bit of a headache for Leeds to try and keep hold of him because he’s been outstanding.
“I’m sure Liverpool are definitely looking at him. But the price tag will be high to get him out of there.”
Phillips has three years left to run on his Leeds contract.
The 25-year-old has played 211 times across all competitions for his boyhood club, including 29 Premier League games last season.
