Liverpool must join the hunt for Atalanta loanee and dazzling midfielder Bryan Cristante, and steal in on Premier League rivals Tottenham for the player’s signature.
The Reds have been on the look-out for a Philippe Coutinho-esque type player who can fill the void left by the Brazilian and despite a number of names being batted about, it would appear that there is nothing set in stone at the point of writing.
And this is where Cristante comes in.
The 23-year-old two-time Italian international has set Serie A alight this season where he has been on loan with Atalanta from Benfica.
From the centre of the park, the forward has registered eight times in the league, including goals against Napoli, Juventus, and AC Milan, and totalled 11 all season.
And then in the Europa League, he pulled Everton apart in the two ties between the sides – scoring in both matches, including a brace in the 5-1 hammering of the Toffees at Goodison Park.
Good form against Liverpool’s city rivals would undoubtedly make the midfielder an instant hit with Reds supporters.
With interest from Tottenham, as well as Atalanta holding a buying option on the player, it means that the Reds will have to move quickly to tie down a deal for the Italian ace.
