Liverpool news: Luis Diaz 'can do things Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane can't after what pundit spotted
Luis Diaz is a dazzling talent and “can do things Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane can’t” for Liverpool.
That is according to ex-Leeds United striker Noel Whelan, speaking to Football Insider after watching the January signing’s latest display for in Saturday’s 1-0 win over West Ham.
A Mane first-half goal was enough to secure the three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side as they kept the pressure on league leaders Man City.
It was a generally underwhelming performance from Liverpool, as they struggled to make their possession count and frequently hit the brick wall of David Moyes’ well-drilled defence.
Whelan says the one bright spark was recent £50million arrival Diaz, who started in a three-man attack alongside Salah and Mane.
The new boy was once again on the left, with Salah on the right and Mane used down the middle.

” Luis Diaz is a sensational player who has immediately made a great team better,” Whelan told Football Insider.
“That’s how good he is, and the competition for places is stronger than I can remember.
“He’s not going to score the goals that Salah scores, but he does offer something different to the others.
“He’s more of a dribbler than Salah and Mane, who are all about pace and movement, as well as brilliant finishing.
“In the first half against West Ham, there was one time when he received the ball on the run, dribbled effortlessly past a few players and nearly scored.
“You watch it thinking, ‘Wow, even Salah and Mane can’t do that’. Credit to Liverpool for signing him. He’s going to be a great player for them.”
Diaz made his eighth appearance for Liverpool on Saturday night, five of which have been starts.
He has scored once for his new club after 16 goals and six assists for Porto in the first half of the season.
