Liverpool news: Pundit ‘amazed’ by Alisson Becker amid dressing room claim
Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on the “amazing” Alisson Becker for his support of Liverpool teammates Caoimhin Kelleher and Thiago Alcantara.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said every team needs “characters like” Alisson, 29, in their dressing room.
Liverpool’s number one missed out on the League Cup final, with Jurgen Klopp trusting the younger Kelleher at Wembley.

However, Alisson showed no signs of disappointment or envy as he celebrated the penalty shootout win over Chelsea with his fellow keepers.
As captured by Sky Sports (27 February), the Brazil international played a pivotal role on the bench pre-match as he consoled Thiago Alcantara, who was injured in the warm-up.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Alisson’s character, Campbell said:
“Jurgen Klopp would have spoken to him at the start of the season and said, ‘Look, Kelleher is going to play in the final and I’m sure he would have been fine with it, even though he would have wanted to play.
“It was great to see them both celebrating together at full time. You need characters like Alisson in your dressing room.

“He is also someone who knows how to test the temperature of players. We saw that with his handling of the Thiago situation pre-kick off. That is key. Thiago needed that.
“Fair play to Alisson for being the experienced character that was needed on the bench that day. He’s clearly an amazing teammate both on and off the field.”
