Liverpool news: Pundit issues 'exceptional' Luis Diaz prediction amid '100 per cent' claim

Luis Diaz will soon match the goal output of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota at Liverpool, according to Paul Robinson.

The former Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, is “100 per cent sure” of Diaz, 25, becoming a prolific goalscorer for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Diaz has excelled since joining the Reds from FC Porto in January.

The winger’s direct running and skills have quickly endeared him to the Anfield faithful.

However, the Colombia international has contributed just one goal in his nine appearances for Liverpool.

It represents a relatively meagre return compared to the 14 goals and four assists he contributed in 18 league games for FC Porto in the first half of this season.

When asked if Diaz needed to add more assists and goals to his game, Robinson told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs:

“The goals will come for Luis Diaz, I have no doubt about that.

“He has hit the ground running and he has certainly not needed a settling in period. He’s taken his first opportunity from Klopp.

“I’m 100 per cent sure that goals will come because his performances are exceptional. He’s getting in the right areas and if that continues the goals will follow.

“I’ve been so impressed with him since he’s come to this country. He will soon start sharing the goalscoring burden with Salah, Mane and Jota.”

Salah, Mane and Jota have scored a combined 54 goals this season.

They are the top three scorers in the Premier League.
