Liverpool news: Robinson 'loves' what he's heard from Jurgen Klopp after Sky reveal - 'he's clearly upset'

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Tottenham for “upsetting” Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Saturday.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one claimed the 54-year-old’s “moaning” is “credit” to Antonio Conte’s side and tactics.

Spurs produced a disciplined performance at Anfield on Saturday to hold Liverpool to a 1-1 draw.

As quoted by Sky Sports post-match (8 May), Klopp pointed the finger at Tottenham’s tactics and suggested Conte should encourage a better brand of football with the “world-class” players at his disposal.

The German manager compared Spurs’ approach to that of Atletico Madrid under Diego Simeone.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his reaction to Klopp’s outburst, Robinson said: “From a Tottenham point of view, I love it.

“You do not break the rules. You play within the laws of the game and make the opposition find a way to beat you. That was a feather in Spurs’ cap.

“Listening to Jurgen Klopp’s press conference Spurs clearly upset him. Antonio Conte doesn’t have the same quality of players available to him as Klopp. For Klopp to come out and moan about the way that Spurs played is credit to Spurs. They had a smart approach to the game and that’s what upset him.

“It is up to Klopp as a world-class manager to change his strategy to break down Spurs. Clearly he was frustrated by his inability to do so.”
