Kieran Maguire: New announcement signals Liverpool on course to smash record amid £218m reveal
Liverpool will likely record their best ever year for shirt sales in 2022-23.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the roll-out of the Merseysiders’ new home kit.
Liverpool announced on Thursday (5 May) that their Nike-made kit is available to pre-order ahead of release on 19 May.
It will be the third season that Liverpool gear will have been produced by Nike, who took over from New Balance ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Liverpool accepted a smaller base rate in exchange for a greater cut of units sold as part of the deal.
And Maguire claims that Liverpool, who remain in the hunt for a quadruple this term, could be set to coin it in from the new kit launch.

“Because Liverpool’s deal is a little different, there is more riding on shirt sales than at other clubs,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“Liverpool’s total commercial income was £218m last year. You’d anticipate that this will be a signficant boost to that.
“What better time to launch a shirt? If they win the quadruple, they are going to fly off the shelves.
“I would anticipate it being the best ever year in terms of the volume of shirt sales.”
Liverpool’s title hopes were dented by their 1-1 draw with Tottenham on Saturday (7 May).
But they have already won the League Cup this season and are into the finals of both the FA Cup and the Champions League.
