Liverpool are among a number of top Premier League clubs chasing West Brom hot-shot Jovan Malcolm, Football Insider can reveal.
The 16-year-old forward is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in his age group in the country after catching the eye for the Championship club’s youth sides.
A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that Malcolm is firmly on their radar as they plot a move for him following regular scouting missions.
The rising star is a regular for West Brom Under-18s and he enhanced his growing reputation with a four-goal salvo in a thrilling 6-3 win against Liverpool’s own Under-18s last weekend.
Malcolm has scored seven goals and provided three assists in nine Under-18s games so far this season.
His outstanding performance at the weekend has made Premier League leaders Liverpool sit up and take notice of the talented teenager.
The source explained there is also interest in him from other elite Premier League clubs and his future at the Hawthorns is now believed to be in considerable doubt.
West Brom have an impressive reputation for developing top talent in recent years and Malcolm is the latest young star to attract interest.
The Championship leaders will be keen to keep hold of Malcolm after losing highly rated youngsters Morgan Rogers and Louie Barry to Manchester City and Barcelona respectively in the last year.
