Alan Hutton has claimed Liverpool have set sights on signing "another Diogo Jota" amid reported interest in Wolves loanee Hwang Hee-chan.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland international admitted he had been hugely impressed by the 25-year-old's form since moving from RB Leipzig.

As reported by the Mirror (13th November), Liverpool and Manchester City have already scouted Hwang several times as they plot a potential move.

As such, Wolves are said to be looking to turn the forward's loan from Leipzig permanent in January.

Sky Sports claim the Midlands outfit have a £13million optional purchase clause that can be triggered next summer.

Hutton suggested the South Korea star could emulate Jota's success at Anfield were he to make the move to Merseyside.

"I've actually really liked what I've seen," Hutton told Football Insider's Russell Edge.

"I've watched a couple of their games and he's a really exciting player. He's strong, he's quick, he takes people on.

"He's on loan from Leipzig and I was quite surprised that he wasn't playing there. in there. There will be more than Liverpool that will be watching him.

"He's come in, hit the ground running and looks really exciting.

"I think that could be another Jota, if they manage to get a hold of him."

Hwang has scored four goals in eight Premier League appearances already.
