Liverpool will listen to offers for Adam Bogdan in the summer as they prepare to sign a new goalkeeper, Football Insider sources understand.

Bogdan has slipped to third in the goalkeeper pecking order at Anfield after failing to impress in his five first-team appearances this season.

He was axed from Liverpool's Europa League squad in January in favour of rookie Danny Ward, who was recalled from a loan spell at Aberdeen.

Ward has subsequently been the substitute goalkeeper in the matchday squad, while Simon Mignolet maintains his position as the club's undisputed No1.

Sources have told Football Insider that the Merseysiders are ready to offload Bogdan in the summer after he lost the faith of manager Jurgen Klopp with high-profile blunders either side of the new year against Watford and Exeter.

The 28-year-old Hungarian joined on a free transfer from Bolton last summer but is now surplus to requirements and will be allowed to find a new club.

Mignolet recently signed a lucrative new contract but a Liverpool source has told Football Insider that Klopp is targeting a proven keeper who can compete with the Belgian for the No1 spot.

Bogdan, who is 6ft 4in, has made five appearances for Liverpool this season, four of them in the cup competitions, but looked ill at when dealing with crosses.

Exeter scored direct from a corner against Bogdan and Watford profited from a horrible mistake, also from a corner, when they beat the Merseysiders 3-0 before Christmas.
