Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori is closing in on a transfer to Greek giants Olympiacos, according to a report.

The Sun claim that the Merseysiders are on the verge of agreeing a £5million deal for the centre-back, who is not part of Jurgen Klopp's plans.

It is said that the former Sporting Lisbon man, 23, is not considered ready for Premier League football.

Ilori has a Liverpool contract that runs until the summer of 2018 with the Reds but now appears set to end his three-and-a-half-year spell on Merseyside.

Olympiacos coach Paulo Bento is said to have a good relationship with Ilori from his Sporting Lisbon days, which should help clinch the deal.

Ilori has made little impact at Liverpool, making just three senior appearances and being sent out on loan on three occasions to Granada, Bordeaux and Aston Villa.
