Medical today: Calvin Ramsay signs for Liverpool after breakthrough - Sources
Aberdeen sensation Calvin Ramsay will undergo a Liverpool medical on Friday after a breakthrough in talks, Football Insider understands.
The right-back, 18, has been given the green light to head south of the border and finalise the Merseysiders’ third summer signing.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Liverpool have agreed a fee worth £4million plus £2.5m of add-ons for Ramsay.
The deal expected to be finalised in the next 24 hours with Ramsay granted permission to head to Merseyside for medical tests and to put pen to paper on a contract.
He is expected to be announced as a new Liverpool signing this weekend following the earlier captures of Fabio Carvalho and marquee signing Darwin Nunez.
Aberdeen have secured a club-record fee for Ramsay, which tops the £3m from Nottingham Forest for Scott McKenna.

The Dons have also received an extra £1m for the centre-back this summer after Forest were promoted to the Premier League.
Ramsay has opted to join Liverpool ahead of Leeds even though the path to a first-team role is a more complicated one at Anfield.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, who Jurgen Klopp has claimed is the best in his position in Europe, is the undisputed first choice right-back at Anfield.
The role of understudy was shared in the recently-completed domestic campaign by Joe Gomez and James Miller following Neco Williams’ loan move to Fulham.
Ramsay has just had an outstanding season at Aberdeen after graduating from their youth ranks to establish himself in the senior team.
He has already played 39 times for the club, including 33 in the 2021-22 campaign.
