Liverpool have been impressed by the performances of Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez as they weigh up a potential January deal for his signature.

This is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the left-back is one of a number of the Cherries stars attracting high-profile attention.

Bournemouth have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season in the Premier League, firing themselves to 5th place after winning eight, drawing four and losing five of their first 17 games.

However, in doing so, multiple of their high-performing players have attracted interest from clubs across England and in Europe.

More recently, though, the Reds have continued to keep an eye on the left-back as a potential long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.

He has established himself as a crucial player in Andoni Iraola's side, starting all 17 of their Premier League games this season, and has developed brilliantly.

The likes of Antoine Semenyo and Illya Zabarnyi have also been the subject of scouting missions so far this season, although Bournemouth are keen to keep hold of their best players.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after spending over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, compared Bournemouth's playing style to Liverpool, insisting their displays has inspired growing interest.

"The left-back [Kerkez] is attracting a lot of interest," he told Football Insider.

"Liverpool have been watching him closely because they're looking at potentially replacing Andy Robertson at some stage.

"The you've got players like Semenyo and the centre-back [Zabarnyi] both being looked at.

"They're an interesting bunch of players at Bournemouth and they're doing very well this season.

"They play really good football and every single player works his socks off for the team.

"They're a testament to what I think a football team should be - and they remind me very much of Liverpool in terms of their work ethic, defending properly and attacking with speed.

"Bournemouth are a lesser example of that, but that's why their players are so highly rated.

"They've got a few very interesting younger players who could go on to progress and become good options for some of these bigger teams."
