Kevin Phillips has claimed Liverpool sensation Rhian Brewster may join West Brom for next season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Baggies and England striker suggested a loan move to Championship promotion favourites would make sense for the Anfield rising star.

Brewster joined Swansea City on loan in January after struggling to make a first-team impact at Liverpool, where Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have a stranglehold of the attacking slots.

The 20-year-old has made a big impact at the Liberty Stadium, scoring four goals from his 11 Championship appearances, 10 of which have been starts.

“Tammy Abraham got his chance at Chelsea in extraordinary circumstances but you will not see that at Liverpool,” Phillips told Football Insider.

“Next season the same three will be up top and Klopp might add to that. It might make it even more difficult.”

“Brewster might be one that a promoted team might target, someone like a West Brom. He is not out of his depth at that level.”

Brewster has made only three appearances for his parent club, all of which came in the domestic cup competitions this season.

Klopp has made no secret of his admiration of the young centre-forward, who he regards as capable of eventually establishing himself in the first team just like another academy graduate Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The forward has an outstanding record for Liverpool and England at age-group level, although a serious ankle injury robbed him of a year of his career that he took until this season to fully recover from.

In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that the club have set their sights on a Premier League man who was hopeless last season to replace Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah.
