Barcelona will pay Liverpool the final instalment of Luis Suarez’ 2014 transfer fee this week, according to a report.

The Mirror have reported that the Spanish champions will transfer a payment of £12.98million to the Anfield club, to take the Uruguayan’s total transfer fee to £65million.

The Reds fan-favourite has enjoyed great success in Spain winning La Liga in both of his seasons at the Nou Camp as well as two Copa del Rey titles, a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and a Club World Cup.

The controversial forward has also formed a stunning partnership with star-men Lionel Messi and Neymar.

He initially played upfront with Andy Carroll under manager Kenny Dalglish, and the attacker built up a reputation for missing chances after scoring just four goals in 13 Premier League appearances.

However, the striker soon showed his class and in his next three seasons he totaled an impressive 78 goals.

The striker’s stay in England was not without controversy though. He was involved in an alleged racial abuse incident with Manchester United’s Patrice Evra and was also caught biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.

The Uruguay striker eventually left Liverpool for Barcelona in controversial circumstances after biting Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup, which saw him banned from football until October of the same year.

In other Liverpool transfer news, Reds youngster Cameron Brannagan is desperate to prove his worth during pre-season and stay at the Anfield club next season.
