Liverpool star Robertson out for 'weeks' as injury expert reveals all - ex-teammate

Alan Hutton has suggested Liverpool could lose Andrew Robertson for “weeks” after suffering an injury on Scotland duty.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers star admitted he fears the 27-year-old may have tweaked his hamstring after watching him limp off against Denmark.

The Liverpool ace came off after 79 minutes in Monday night’s 2-0 win.

Football Insider pundit and injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the reputable Premier Injuries site, has given Robertson just a 25 per cent chance of featuring against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

Hutton suggested his old Scotland teammate could be out for a handful of fixtures if it is a hamstring issue.

“It normally always is a couple of weeks,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.

“A player goes down and you can see him wincing a little bit, feeling where it’s bad. You know you’ve maybe tweaked something and it’s not ideal for him.

“He’s a key part of that Liverpool squad and obviously Scotland. I think Jurgen Klopp, what he’s done recently is Tsimikas has come in and played decent.

“He’s had a run of games as well so there’s cover there. Obviously, Robertson’s the number one, he wants to be fit. Hopefully, it’s only a couple of weeks.”

Greece international Kostas Tsimikas started the season at left-back in Robertson’s absence.

The 25-year-old has made eight appearances for Liverpool this season, five of which have come in the Premier League.

After Saturday’s home clash with Arsenal, the Reds play host to Porto and Southampton.
