Alan Hutton has backed Liverpool to win the race to sign Mohammed Kudus.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender has insisted a move to Anfield is a “huge” draw for any player.

According to African outlet Sports World Ghana (22 November), the Reds sent scouts to watch Kudus, 22, against Portugal.

Other big European clubs including AC Milan, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in the Ghanian.

The midfielder currently has three years remaining on his Ajax contract.

Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are all out of contract at the end of the season and the Reds are looking to bring in younger, more dynamic replacements.

When asked if Jurgen Klopp’s side have the edge over the other European clubs, Hutton told Football Insider:I think a lot comes into it.

How they are going to structure payment to the club, the contract length, how much it is worth. This will all be in the thinking as well.

Liverpool are a huge team with a massive fan base. Going to Anfield is something special. Of course they will have an edge to it and the player will definitely be thinking about it.

I think he is a wonderful player. I saw him against Rangers and he was outstanding. He is definitely a player I think could add something different, make them better.

Liverpool are a huge team and they could have the edge on the rest of the teams depending on who they are.
