Liverpool to drive down price to land proven PL forward loved by Klopp - report
By Dominic Toner
Liverpool are keen on signing Arsenal ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to a report.
The Daily Telegraph claim that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is stepping up his pursuit of the 23-year-old as his future at the Emirates Stadium remains unclear.
It is understood that the Gunners are yet to hold discussions with the England international, despite him about to enter the final year of his contract, something Liverpool want to exploit.
The report details that Arsenal are holding out for a £35million valuation for the versatile attacker, but the Merseyside club are confident of driving the price down.
Klopp is known to be a keen admirer of the Arsenal star and feels he could add to his store English core of Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne, Jordan Henderson and James Milner.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has spent the majority of his career so far in a wide forward role on the right flank, with his pace and trickery proving difficult for defenders to deal with.
He has been used in a number of roles this season by Arsene Wenger, which included impressing in a central midfield position.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has endured a frustrating season for Arsenal and has failed to cement his position in the starting line-up for an extended period.
He has still made 39 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and supplying eight assist in return.
Football Insider verdict:
Oxlade-Chamberlain was once tipped to be England’s next star player, but his career has stagnated slightly at Arsenal. The versatile playmaker needs a move away from the Emirates Stadium to reignite his game and a move to Anfield could be the perfect fit. His high work-rate is surely something that Klopp is keen on and he also has the technical ability to improve the Liverpool squad. He has been one of the few Arsenal’s players to keep his reputation intact despite a horror season and should try force a move through to Merseyside. Klopp knows he will need to bolster his options if the Reds are to compete in the league next season and Oxlade-Chamberlain could be a smart addition if they can drive his price down.
