Kieran Maguire: Liverpool to make friends in high places as 'vital' new business deal signed

Liverpool can form “vital business connections” and boost commercial revenue through their latest sponsorship deal.

That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the new partnership with Extreme Networks.

As relayed by Sport Business on Wednesday (18 May), the US-based networking company has made Liverpool the latest addition to its portfolio of sports partners.

They also have deals in place with Man United as well as teams in the NFL and NHL.

Liverpool are a commercial tour de force and scooped £217million in sponsorship and commercial income in 2020-21.

And Maguire insists that they will be able to use Extreme Network to make valuable contacts and win more sponsorship contracts in future.

“Liverpool offer a high level of profile,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams,

“That makes them a very attractive proposition to companies in this industry who want to use that profile to get eyeballs on their own brand.

“Networking is how you build vital contacts, win contracts, and ultimately grow your business. So, Liverpool will also get a strategic boost in that regard.

“From their perspective, you have to say it is difficult to see a downside for something like this.”

Liverpool also recently signed a commercial deal with German bookmaker Interwetten.

They remain in the hunt for an unprecedented quadruple on the pitch and face Wolves in their final Premier League match on Sunday (22 May).
