'Wow', 'Breaking all kinds of records' - Fans react as Liverpool to sign PL forward in June reportedly
By Richard Parks
Liverpool are set to sign Manchester City forward Bobby Duncan in a deal that will reportedly be done in June – and fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight.
The Sun claim the Merseyside giants are closing in on the capture of the England Under-17 international, who is a forward and considered to be one of the most highly-rated players of his age in the country.
It is said that Huyton-born Duncan, who is also the cousin of club legend Steven Gerrard, has been entangled in an extended contract dispute with City all season and has been training with League One Wigan ahead of his anticipated move to Liverpool.
Duncan will turn 17 in June and is then expected to immediately sign for Liverpool, where he will link up Gerrard, who is the club’s Under-18s manager.
Liverpool fans on social media are excited at the prospect of landing a player who has spent the last six years learning his trade at the City academy.
