Liverpool to turn attention to Antonio Nusa as Yan Diomande concerns arise
Liverpool could make a move for Antonio Nusa should a deal for his RB Leipzig teammate Yan Diomande become too difficult, sources have told Football Insider.
The Reds want to invest in new wingers on both flanks, it is understood, and Leipzig’s stars are both being targeted ahead of what could be a huge summer of change at Anfield.
However, the Bundesliga giants want to keep Diomande, who has a contract until 2030, for at least one more season. They also aren’t willing to sell both wingers in the same window.
Liverpool are set to lose Mohamed Salah, and with Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak both struggling fitness-wise, Arne Slot will be desperate for more reinforcements in the final third.

Naturally, Nusa is a left-winger, so he wouldn’t be seen as a direct replacement for Salah, and his arrival would also bring concerns about the development of youngster Rio Ngumoha.
The spotlight has been firmly on Diomande, however. The 19-year-old has 22 goal contributions in his first season in Germany, while his teammate has only nine.
Nusa is still a very talented attacker, earning his move from the Belgian Pro League in the summer of 2024 and settling nicely into the Bundesliga, but he would be the back-up option for Slot’s side.

Football Insider understood back in February that Tottenham were interested in Nusa, so it would not be a surprise to see Liverpool face competition for the player’s signature in the summer.
Rio Ngumoha’s development could be dented at Anfield
A lot has already been made about Ngumoha and his struggles this season. But those struggles weren’t his fault in the slightest, but rather Slot’s for a lack of minutes on the pitch.
Football Insider understands that Liverpool are set to reject any loan offers for the 17-year-old, though only time will tell how many chances the youngster will be given next term.
He has started just four of the Reds’ 37 Premier League matches this season, but with a goal and an assist in his last six appearances, the sparks are enough evidence to suggest that he should get a lot more minutes.
The Anfield faithful have made their feelings known about the situation already, booing the manager after Ngumoha was taken off against Chelsea after just 67 minutes. Hopefully, they’ll see a lot more of him next season.
