Kieran Maguire tips second 'huge' development after £80m Liverpool news confirmed
Liverpool may need to build a second on-site megastore at Anfield to maximise their commercial profits.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Merseysiders’ latest commercial collaboration.
The Liverpool Echo reported on 27 October that Liverpool are set to launch a new line of club-branded trainers with technical partner Nike.
Liverpool are in the process of expanding capacity at Anfield to beyond 60,000 with the redevelopment of the Anfield Road stand.
The Athletic reported on 2 October that development costs have risen by £20million to £80m following late changes to the design.
Maguire argues that Liverpool should add to the bill by building a second official merchandise store.

“You can understand why this would have an appeal,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“Some people are completely dedicated to being fans and like the idea of being clad head to toe in Liverpool gear.
“You have only got to look at the queues outside the megastore at Anfield on a Saturday to see that.
“One of the concerns for the club is that, while the ground keeps expanding, they could probably do with another one of their huge megastores.
“They physically cannot fit everybody in. The demand does exceed the supply. That’s a good position to be in.
“Nike make a gross profit of 43 per cent on the merchandise last year. They will be looking to utilise every link they have.”
