Bournemouth have confirmed the arrival of Liverpool defender Brad Smith on a four-year deal.

The 22-year-old was handed his first Premier League start by manager Jurgen Klopp last season, but has now been moved on to become the eighth Liverpool player to leave Anfield.

Smith follows a host of Liverpool players exiting the club either on loan or permanently this summer with Martin Skrtel, Ryan Kent, Danny Ward, Joe Allen, Sergi Canos, Jerome Sinclair and Jordan Rossiter all leaving the club in recent weeks.

Kent and Ward are the only ones in the group to be shipped out on loan and Smith joins his former Liverpool teammate Jordon Ibe at Dean Court.

Ibe signed for the Cherries in a deal believed to be worth around £15million, while reports have suggested Smith's transfer fee stands at £6million.

Smith ends an eight-year association with Liverpool after joining the Reds as a youngster.

The Australia international becomes Bournemouth's sixth summer signing and is already back in England after flying home from Liverpool's pre-season tour earlier in the week to complete the move.
