Piotr Zielinski has admitted he has spoken to Borussia Dortmund star Jakub Blaszczykowski about what life could be like under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Zielinski has asked his international teammate about Klopp as Liverpool prepare a summer swoop for the highly rated Polish midfielder.
Blaszczykowski, who is on loan at Fiorentina, was present for Klopp’s entire seven-year reign at Dortmund and was an integral member of the squad that won two Bundesliga titles.
Udinese star Zielinski has impressed during a season-long loan at Empoli and Football Insider revealed that the 21-year-old is being extensively scouted by Liverpool.
“Some people say these are just the rumours. I know a little bit more about it,” said Zielinski speaking to Polish website “But until now I just try to play as best as I can in Empoli to have a possible chance in June for such a big transfer move. .
“I have spoken with Kuba [Blaszczykowski] who plays in Fiorentina now about Klopp.
“He told me about his personality, how is Klopp to the players, gave me some tips, but nothing is known yet. I constantly have to play well in Empoli to get the interest from the bigger clubs.”
Zielinski has been one of the stand-out central midfielders in Serie A this season, making 26 league appearances for the 10th-placed team and weighing in with a highly creditable three goals and five assists from midfield.
He is in line to play a starring role for Poland in the summer’s European Championships alongside his captain Blaszczykowski.
The Polish international said: “Definitely he [Coutinho] is one of the best Liverpool players this season. I really like his style of play, I watch him closely.
“It would be great to play alongside Coutinho. I am sure we could be a good duo on the pitch. We’ll see what will happen.”
Liverpool have been regularly sending scouts to watch Zielinski and are seriously considering a £12million bid once the transfer window reopens in the summer.
