Piotr Zielinski will be the one who decides his next move with Udinese expecting a decision soon from the Liverpool target, according to the club's sporting director.

Udinese director Nero Benato revealed the long running transfer saga would soon be reaching a conclusion now that Zielinski was finished with his Euro 2016 duties with Poland.

Napoli and Liverpool are rumoured to have made an identical bid for the 22-year-old, but Benato said that the club has agreed a deal in principle with their Serie A rivals.

"I think there's an agreement in principle with the clubs, but the lad going to the Euros froze the deal for the moment," said Bonato speaking on Italian station Radio Marte.

"We're in a waiting period. Zielinski will choose soon, he wanted time to focus solely on the European Championships.

"The priority now goes to a decision on his future."

Football Italia.com claim Udinese are unhappy with Liverpool's approach to the transfer with Jurgen Klopp supposedly speaking to the player before the club over a move.

However, Zielinski is believed to prefer a move to the Premier League despite the fact his club would like him to join Napoli.

The tug of war between Liverpool and Napoli was sparked by Zielinski's impressive performances while on loan at Empoli last season.

Zielinski scored five goals and provided six assists from midfield and was rewarded for his form by Poland.

The midfielder travelled to France with his country, but managed just 45 minutes in the tournament as Poland were knocked out by Portugal in the quarter-finals.
