Liverpool update in Echo means 'Arsenal are now favourites' - Agbonlahor

Arsenal are favourites for their game against Liverpool this weekend because of the Reds’ enormous injury list.

That is the view of ex-Aston Villa and England attacker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as Liverpool sweat over the fitness of 10 players.

The Liverpool Echo reported today (November 17) it is unclear whether Divock Origi, Andy Robertson, Jordan Henderson and Saido Mane will be available for the game after picking up injuries on international duty.

James Milner, Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones are also doubts while Naby Keita, Harvey Elliott and Roberto Firmino have been ruled out.

“I called this at the start of the season,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I said Liverpool would not win the Premier League this season because of the lack of squad depth and that’s what will happen.

“If you are looking at this Liverpool team at the weekend with those injuries, Arsenal should now be favourites and look to take advantage.

“There are a lot of key players who might be out. Liverpool, for me, did not add enough depth to their squad over the summer.

“If Firmino and Mane are out, Arsenal can double up on Mo Salah and let the ball go out to Takumi  Minamino or Origi because they’re not as much of a threat.

“It will be a tough game for Liverpool. Arsenal have got a chance to beat them. This is a test for them. Let’s see where they are against Liverpool on the back of those injuries.”

In other news, the ‘new Jermain Defoe’ has been tipped to quit Arsenal for their London rivals after a reported update.
