Liverpool will 'dominate' and beat Man City to title after what pundit has just seen
Liverpool will “dominate” and win the 2022-23 Premier League title.
That’s according to former Aston Villa and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ chances of challenging Man City for the Premier League title.
On Saturday (30 July), Liverpool beat Man City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium to win the FA Community Shield.
This gave Jurgen Klopp’s men their first silverware of the seaosn after winning a domestic double last term.
In the transfer market, Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvahlo though they have lost Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich.
Despite Man City’s signings of Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez and Kalvin Phillips, McLeish is backing Liverpool to win the Premier League title.

“it was very close last year, there was nothing in it between City and Liverpool,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“City showed they could handle the pressure at the end by winning that incredible finish to the season.
“I would actually put Liverpool as favourites after watching them in the community shield. The players have had another season of experince and they want to go one better.
“It is very, very difficult to retain the Premier League. I have a feeling Liverpool will dominate.”
The Reds start their Premier League season away at Fulham on Saturday (6 August).
Man City’s title defence starts 24 hours later, in a clash against West Ham at the London Stadium.
